Aurora Health conducts research in collaboration with local university partners. Each product is supported by its own research and development journey, with scientific investigation and evidence supporting its development.
MindLumina

Cosmos caudatus, the herb commonly known in Malaysia as Ulam Raja, has been studied for its potential effects on memory, focus and mood among adults with mild cognitive impairment.

of Malaysian adults over 50 show mild cognitive impairment
8.5% of those over 60 live with dementia.
MCI is the reversible stage before dementia, which makes it the window where intervention still changes the outcome.
- MCI
Mild Cognitive
Impairment - Intervention window
The best time to act
for better outcomes - Dementia
Higher risk of decline
and dependency
What the study found
Results observed in adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) after 16 weeks of intervention with Cosmos caudatus extract.

Imimate Cream

A topical photodynamic therapy using chlorophyll catabolites from Clinacanthus nutans, developed for actinic keratosis and taken through two clinical phases.

Actinic keratosis is caused by long-term UV exposure and can progress to squamous cell carcinoma if untreated. Existing treatments are costly and often cause side effects, which left room for a gentler and more accessible option.
- UV exposure
Long-term sun damage
to the skin - Actinic keratosis
Where treatment can still
change the outcome - Squamous cell carcinoma
The risk if it is
left untreated
What the study found
Conducted at a Malaysian teaching hospital, with 92 healthy volunteers assessed for irritation, sensitisation, photoallergy, phototoxicity and tolerability.
- No photoallergy reactions observed
- No phototoxic reactions observed
- Excellent overall skin tolerability
Twenty-three patients with actinic keratosis.
- Clinical improvement in AK lesions
- Reduced scaliness, thickness and inflammation
- Comparable outcomes to Imiquimod 5% cream, with favourable tolerability

Colloidal Nanosilver

The science behind Aurora Silver Skin Spray and the Gentle Protection Series, driven by university research and scientific innovation.

Silver has been used as a germicide since ancient times, but concentration and particle size decide whether it is effective and whether it is safe. The work was to find the window where it is highly germicidal yet harmless to human skin.
What the research established
Tested in the laboratory at a concentration of 106 organisms per millilitre, in direct contact with colloidal nanosilver. Effective against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.
How the silver works
Colloidal nanosilver disables the enzymes anaerobic bacteria depend on. The particles interact with thiol groups, proteins and DNA, interfering with DNA replication and inhibiting the cell functions the organism needs to survive.
